IS IPL GOOD FOR ROSACEA?

IPL aims to rid the skin of unwanted redness, pigment, or unevenly toned areas. IPL is a light therapy treatment using wavelengths to absorb Oxyhemoglobin which is found in the blood which causes the redness. Heat from the IPL helps destroy the the capillaries which causes the Rosacea. IPL offers a gentle, long-lasting solution for those suffering from Rosacea by providing a gradual and natural improvement to the skin’s appearance.

IS IPL GOOD FOR HAND REJUVENATION?

IPL is frequently used on the hands and arms to greatly improve sun damage and eliminate sun spots and seborrheic keratoses. IPL pigmentation correction effectively fades and removes age spots, sun spots and discolouration to greatly improve overall skin tone and texture of the hands.

WHO IS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR IPL SKIN REJUVENATION?

A good candidate for IPL is one who has sun damaged or discoloured skin, dark spots, uneven skin, or certain types of chronic, inflammatory skin conditions like rosacea. . The IPL technology is attracted to pigment within the skin, clients with less pigment will receive greater results. IPL is most effective on paler and untanned skin.

WHO IS NOT SUITABLE TO HAVE IPL SKIN REJUVENATION?

This treatment is not recommend for:

  • Patients currently taking Accutane or a similar acne treatment

  • Patients with severe cases of acne or other skin conditions

  • Patients with tanned skin

  • Women who are pregnant breastfeeding

  • Patients on blood thinning medications

  • IPL is similar to laser treatment. Where it differs is a laser focuses on wavelength of light on your skin while the IPL releases many different wavelengths over a larger area.

  • Brown spots treated typically get darker over the 24 hours following treatment then slowly fade away over the next 7-14 days.

  • Immediately after your IPL skin rejuvenation treatment, it is normal for the skin to be a little red. You may experience slight swelling after your IPL treatment. This is completely normal and will settle down after 24-48 hours.

  • You will be aware of the pulses of light flashing. You will feel a slight sting, as if a rubber bandis being snapped against your skin, but this is minimal.

  • Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks before treatment

    Avoid Self Tanner 2 weeks prior to treatment

    Do not use any retinol products (or products containing tretinoin) for one week prior to treatment

    Do not use exfoliants on the area for at least one week prior to treatment.

    Avoid Accutane for 6 months prior.
