WHAT ARE PDO Mono THREADS?

PDO (Polydioxanone) threads differ from PDO Thread lifts, where long barbed threads are used to lift tissue. Instead, Mono Threads provide an improvement of fine lines and wrinkles by gradually stimulating your body's natural healing process and increasing collagen in those areas.

PDO Threads are made up from a material called PolyDioxanOne, which is a flexible and durable polymer that our body naturally absorbs over a 6 month period.

Threads come in two different textures:

  1. Mono Threads

  2. Screw Threads

What is the difference between mono and screw threads and which option is best for me?

If you’re new to the concept of Threads, all of this information might seem overwhelming. You might be thinking how Mono and Double Screw Threads differ in terms of results and which option is right for you.

Mono Threads are a type of single PDO filament no thicker than a fine hair which are smooth and made without barbs. The threads gradually tighten the skin by activating natural collagen production to give the effect of rejuvenated skin.

Mono Threads are perfect for:

  • Improving sagging in the neck

  • Reducing fine lines and wrinkles on the face and forehead

  • Adding slight volume to the cheeks

Double Screw Threads have intertwined threads around the insertion needle which provide volume to the treated area. The major difference between the 2 is that Double Screw Threads, as the name would suggest, provide twice as much of a volumising effect of a mono thread.

Double Screw Threads are perfect for:

  • Treating the same issues as addressed by Mono Threads

  • Provide greater volume and lift to the skin by reducing sagging or sunken areas

HOW DOES THE PDO THREADS PROCEDURE WORK?

Treatments sessions typically take between 30 to 60 minutes, however this will vary based on many factors-such as the size of your treatment area. After a topical anaesthetic is applied to the treatment area; the PDO Threads are inserted into the skin in a mesh like pattern, producing a tightening effect.

The threads become a support structure for your skin, allowing collagen production to increase. There is no incision, therefore no stitches are required.

WHY ARE MONO THREADS THE BEST NEW TREATMENT?

They provide advanced non surgical skin rejuvenation by stimulating your own body to produce collagen at an accelerated rate in the treatment area.

For optimal results, we combine PDO threads with other cosmetic injectable treatments.

HOW DO THEY DIFFER FROM ANTI-WRINKLE AND DERMAL FILLER?

PDO mono threads provide the missing link in injectable treatments – Anti-wrinkle treatments smooths linesby relaxing muscles, dermal filler contours and re-volumises while PDO mono threads promote collagen encouraging firmer, tighter, healthier skin.

Can i combine pdo mono threads with other TREATMENTS?

Yes! PDO Threads can be used in combination with other treatments such as Dermal Filler and Anti-Wrinkle injections. Our doctor and nurses can create a comprehensive treatment plan for you to give you optimal results.

How many PDo Mono threads do i need?

The number of threads inserted are dependent on the area treated. Each area will require a different amount of threads. This will be assessed at your consultation.

Prices start from $150.

  • Clients looking for non surgical skin tightening and rejuvenation.  Those with crepey skin, fine lines or areas of the face that you would like to produce collagen to prevent sag such as the brow, cheeks, jawline and neck.

Clients who have unrealistic expectations and who have excess sagging of the skin and loss of facial volume will not be a suitable candidate for the procedure.

  • After the threads are inserted, they rapidly stimulate collagen and are absorbed by the body over a 6-9 week period.  The tightening effect on the skin from the collagen produced can last up to 12 months.  A good quality skin care routine with active products will enhance the results.

  • Results may be seen in 6 weeks and will continue to improve over 2-6 months as the collagen is produced and goes through a process where it matures and strengthens. The PDO Threads work by inducing natural collagen production, which creates a tightening effect.

You will begin to see results in 6 weeks, which will continue to improve over the next 2 to 6 months as new collagen is produced. Overtime, the threads are absorbed by the body. As they slowly dissolve, their effects may last up to 12 months.

  • The cost of Mono Threads is calculated on an individual basis. Cost of threads are dependent on the area treated and type of threads used.

At your consultation, clients will be assessed, and a treatment plan will be made specific for you. All questions regarding the procedure and information about pricing will be provided.
