What Is a Q-Switched Laser (Q-switched Nd:YAG laser)?
Q-switched (Q-switched Nd:YAG laser) involves the use of a laser to create pulses. Unlike traditional laser pointers that emit a continuous beam, Q-switch lasers create laser beam pulses that last billionths of a second. In a very short period of time, energy from the laser is released and becomes concentrated into extremely powerful bursts. The laser delivers photo acoustic shockwaves to the selected target area in ultra-short nanosecond pulses. This method achieves optimal results for various skin conditions without causing damage in the surrounding tissue.
The Laser’s powerful, brief pulses have two key benefits:
These pulses are strong enough to break down little parts of ink or pigmentation as well as stimulate collagen production.
The energy only remains in the skin for a few billionths of a second, so surrounding tissues are not damaged. Q-switched lasers are known for preserving surrounding tissue and a reduced risk of unwanted side effects.
At Sonder Private Clinic, we use the ACROMA-QS®. This was conceived with a dual rod design, which not only generates the beam with high eficiency, but also amplifies the generated energy. This then delivers better results in a smaller number of sessions using any available spot size.
Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is a State-of-the-art technology with Dual wavelength 532nm/l 064nm. It is Non-ablative fractional rejuvenation for body and face and is excellent efficacy for removal of tattoos and pigmentary lesions .

What Is the Q-Switched Laser Used For?
SKIN REJUVENATION
Unlock the potential for rejuvenation within your own skin cells. This technology works to stimulate your skin to act like the youthful skin you used to have. In the past, aggressive treatments such as chemical peels and ablative procedures involved extensive downtime and discomfort. They were not suitable for all skin types.
Our Laser skin rejuvenation treatments harness your body’s own potential to heal itself. They help break down the damaged cells so your body can remove them, then they stimulate your body’s natural process to produce fresh, elastic cells that support a more youthful skin.pigmentaion
STEP 1- Your skin cells are stimulated with a precisely controlled energy source.
This triggers your skin cells to renew themselves, producing quantities of the chemicals that gave your skin Its youthful elasticity and fullness.
STEP 2- Your body replaces the damaged skin cells with new, healthy cells.
STEP 3- The result is younger, firmer, clearer- looking skin. Whether you need a more even skin tone, smoothing of superficial lines and wrinkles, firming – or all three – this Laser can turn back the clock for your skin.
The result: sun damage, uneven tone, superficial lines, and wrinkles. It’s time to help your skin feel young again.
CLEARS PIGMENTATION
Targets and destroys freckles, pigmented lesions, sunspots and other dark pigmentation on your skin.
STEP 1 - Your skin cells are stimulated with a precisely controlled energy source that causes the pigmented cells to break down.
STEP 2 - The result is a more even skin tone and a younger, firmer, appearance. Acroma laser treatment also smoothes superficial lines and wrinkles, helping to turn back the clock for your skin.
STEP 3 - This triggers a renewal process, producing quantities of the chemicals that gave your skin its youthful clarity, elasticity and fullness. Your body replaces the damaged skin cells with new, healthy cells. It’s well known that a smooth “peaches and cream” complexion gives you a more youthful appearance.
Your skin gets it’s colour from a pigment called melanin, which is produced by specialised skin cells. If these cells become damaged or unhealthy, they can become highly erratic in their melanin production, leading to darker or lighter patches of skin. The dark patches are sometimes referred to as ‘age spots’, but younger people can also develop them.
MELASMA AND BLOTCHY SKIN
Melasma is the medical term for disfiguring patches of pigmentation on the face. They can be a result of sun exposure, genetic disposition or hormonal changes during the ageing process.
This can also occur during pregnancy or in women taking birth control pills. It is brought about by excess melanin production and formation of concentrated deposits that result in darker patches of skin and an overall ‘blotchy’ appearance.
A major advantage of Laser Toning is that there is no downtime, and minimal risk of side effects. You can achieve a smoother, more youthful skin with minimal interruption to your normal routine.
Your clinician will clean your skin prior to treatment. The laser will produce short nanosecond pulses of intense light that pass harmlessly through the top layers of the skin to be absorbed by the dark pigment. Reliably smooths skin tones and helps to remove disfiguring patches of pigmentation that age your appearance.
STEP 1- The laser will produce short nanosecond pulses of intense light that pass harmlessly through the top layers of the skin to be absorbed by the dark pigment.
STEP 2- Over time, this pigment breaks up into smaller particles and is removed by your body’s own immune system.
STEP 3- Over the course of several treatments, you will see the darker pigmentation gradually fade, as your skin progressively regains a smoother, more refreshed and youthful appearance.
* Individual results may vary based on the aggressiveness of treatment and skin condition.
ACNE
ACNE is an ongoing problem for 85% of all teenagers. More than a third of adults also suffer from recurring and persistent acne.Acroma offers a reliable and lasting solution to all types of acne.
Laser light energy is delivered to the sebaceous glands, where it heats and destroys the bacteria-causing agents. this helps to reduce inflammation, reducing the pimple and stimulating skin cell regeneration.
STEP 1- The skin is cleaned and a special photo- enhancing lotion may be applied to the treatment area.
STEP 2- Light energy is delivered deep into the skin, reaching the sebaceous glands. This helps to reduce inflammation and stimulates skin cell regeneration.
STEP 3- The laser gently peels the old skin away, destroys bacteria, unplugs and shrinks pores, and stimulates new skin growth
Our Laser treatment offers a reliable and long-lasting solution to stubborn and persistent acne.
TATTOO REMOVAL
Q-Switched Laser targets and destroys the ink in tattoos so your body can eliminate it, leaving your skin clear again. When compared with other laser tattoo removal treatments, Acroma Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser tattoo removal provides
• outstanding results
• less risk of injury to the surrounding tissue
• more comfortable treatments
• faster healing time
STEP 1- Our practitioner may apply a numbing cream to your skin to ensure the treatment is as comfortable as possible. If the area has hair growth, the practitioner may shave it to avoid burning the hair.
STEP 2- Precisely targets the ink particles in your skin with a beam of laser light. As the ink particles absorb the light from the laser, they are broken up into fragments.
STEP 3- After treatment, the skin will be sensitive for a few days. It will be covered with a sterile non-adherent dressing to protect it. You must not scratch the area during the healing process. Your body will progressively remove the ink fragments.
STEP 4- Your tattoo will require several treatments, depending on the colour and type of ink used. You need to allow 6 to 12 weeks between treatments to ensure your body has time to eliminate all the ink fragments.
