WHAT ARE bio-remodellers?
Bio-remodelling is the latest cosmetic treatment to combat ageing, tired or dull skin, as well as loss of facial volume.
This new and exciting treatment promotes the remodelling of ageing, crepey, lax or sagging skin. It stimulates the formation of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid in the skin. Not only does this plump the skin to combat loss of facial volume, it also improves skin quality and firmness by remodelling the skin, resulting in healthier and smoother looking skin.
How does bio-remodelling treatment work?
Bio Remodelling treatment is delivered into the skin and it naturally spreads evenly throughout the surrounding tissues to hydrate and stimulate the collagen and elastin production. In treating the face, there are just 5 injection points required on each side of the face.
It provides deep hydration and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, resulting in firming, tightening and hydrating of the skin. The treatment works in two phases, hydrating your skin and then stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin.
Clients can usually expect increased firmness, hydration and elasticity giving overall improved quality of skin, with effects lasting around 6 months.

What areas can be treated with bio-remodelling?
Bio-Remodellers are usually administered into the skin in five key areas (when administered to the face): the tops of cheeks, side of the face, lines around the mouth, nasolabial folds and laughter lines. It can also be used to improve the appearance of the skin around the neck, chest and décolletage.
WHO IS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR bio-remodelling?
The treatment is suitable for men and women, generally from the age of 30 and up, as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages. It is an ideal treatment for people who want to keep their skin strong and in good condition. It is also beneficial for those individuals who have started to notice the first signs of fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin and a dull complexion.
WHO IS not a CANDIDATE FOR bio-remodelling?
Certain medical conditions may mean you are unsuitable which may include:
Autoimmune conditions
Blood clotting disorders
Cancer
Diabetes
Immunosuppression
Rheumatoid arthritis
**Women who are pregnant or breast feeding are not suitable for this treatment
When will I see results?
Whilst you may see an improvement immediately after the first treatment, you can expect to see firmer and more radiant skin within 3 to 5 days. The best results are visible around 4 weeks after the second treatment. After 8 weeks, your skin will also appear more hydrated, healthy and youthful.

You should not schedule any invasive procedures for 2 weeks before or after treatment with Skin Bio-Remodelling Profhilo treatments and adhere to the following pre-treatment instructions. These include but are not limited to:
• Dental cleaning or dental work
• Lesion excision or biopsy
• Surgery of any kind
• Internal device placement
• Tattoo or permanent makeup
• It is recommended to discontinue use of Aspirin, Motrin, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days - 1 week before and after treatment to minimise bruising/bleeding. Consult your GP prior to discontinuing any medications
• Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods, and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your treatment. These items may contribute to increased swelling or irritation
• If you have a history of cold sores with outbreaks occurring more than 4 times a year, it is recommended that you are pre-treated with medication prior to the injection treatments around or near the oral area. The medication will need to be initiated 3 days prior to your treatment visit. Please consult with your GP in obtaining the medication
• If you develop a cold/flu, cold sore, blemish, or rash, etc. in the area to be treated prior to your appointment, we recommend that you please reschedule your appointment until it resolves
• It is recommended to discontinue Retin-A 2-3 days before treatment to avoid any increased redness and irritation
• It is recommended that you wait at least 2 weeks to have Profhilo treatments performed if you have previously had cosmetic treatments with laser, ultrasound, peels, facials, microdermabrasion and COVID-19 vaccinations
• It is recommended to take arnica tablets for 7 days prior to your treatment. This can reduce the likelihood of bruising
• Be sure to have a good breakfast, including food and drink a minimum for 2 hours before your procedure. This will decrease the chances of light-headedness during your treatment
• If possible, arrive ‘fresh faced’, free of all make up, moisturisers, sunscreens and creams
• You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

New patients will require two treatments which are four weeks apart for the best results. This is followed by a maintenance treatment every 6-12 months afterwards.

There is no downtime or much recovery period for the treatment, you can go back to normal lifestyle straight away.
Side effects symptoms such as pain, the sensation of heat, reddening or swelling, sometimes associated with itching, may appear at the injection site. These symptoms can be relieved by applying ice to the treated area. They generally disappear in a short period of time but may persist for up to 10 days.
