Your skin gets it’s colour from a pigment called melanin, which is produced by specialised skin cells. If these cells become damaged or unhealthy, they can become highly erratic in their melanin production, leading to darker or lighter patches of skin. The dark patches are sometimes referred to as ‘age spots’, but younger people can also develop them.

MELASMA AND BLOTCHY SKIN

Melasma is the medical term for disfiguring patches of pigmentation on the face. They can be a result of sun exposure, genetic disposition or hormonal changes during the ageing process.

TATTOO REMOVAL

STEP 1- Our practitioner may apply a numbing cream to your skin to ensure the treatment is as comfortable as possible. If the area has hair growth, the practitioner may shave it to avoid burning the hair.

STEP 2- Precisely targets the ink particles in your skin with a beam of laser light. As the ink particles absorb the light from the laser, they are broken up into fragments.

STEP 3- After treatment, the skin will be sensitive for a few days. It will be covered with a sterile non-adherent dressing to protect it. You must not scratch the area during the healing process. Your body will progressively remove the ink fragments.

STEP 4- Your tattoo will require several treatments, depending on the colour and type of ink used. You need to allow 6 to 12 weeks between treatments to ensure your body has time to eliminate all the ink fragments.

    • Avoid suntan/spray tan 2 weeks prior to the session, including between treatments (specially 48hours after each treatment).

    • Avoid wearing makeup to the appointment.

    • Stop the use of Retinol 2-3 days prior to the session.

    • Use tyrosinase inhibiting skincare at least 2 weeks prior (specially skin of colour). For example, Ultra C++ serum, Retinol serum, Glow Peel serum.

    • Some procedures may require numbing, please let us know check if you are allergic to any topical numbing

    • cream (perform a test patch).

    • Avoid Sun exposure 2-4 weeks post procedure.

    • Use a broad-spectrum 30+ Sunscreen, wear a hat in addition to sunscreen.

    • There may be some redness and swelling to the treated area. Apply aftercare lotion to the area if needed. Apply an Ice pack if needed.

    • If itching and swelling persists use an antihistamine or contact your practitioner.

    • Do not use Retinol for 7 days.

    • Do not Exfoliate for 5 days post treatment.

    • Avoid hot shower 24hr, the treated area should not be rubbed with a face cloth or towel. It should be gently patted dry.

    • Moisturiser can be applied if the skin feels dry and flaky.

    • Do not shave/wax the area for a few days after the treatment as the skin may feel sensitive.

    • Makeup can be applied 24-48hrafter the procedure. Care must be taken when removing making, avoid rubbing the skin to prevent infection.

    • Avoid Exercise, swimming, Spa, and Sauna for 72hr.

  • Q Master laser treatment is contraindicated in conditions such as:

    • Skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema infection, skin cancer.

    • Suspected/confirmed melanoma or malignant lesions.

    • Active infections (herpes simplex, pustular acne, cellulitis).

    • Photosensitive conditions (porphyria) or recent use of photosensitizing drugs (retinoids, tetracyclines).

      Relative Contraindications:

    • Pregnancy or breastfeeding (safety not well established).

    • Keloid-prone individuals, open wounds, active dermatoses (psoriasis, eczema).

    • Within 6 months of deep resurfacing or radiation therapy.

    • Poorly controlled systemic diseases (e.g., diabetes, epilepsy, cardiovascular conditions).

    • Coagulation disorders or recent anticoagulant use.

    • Recent sun exposure (within 3–4 weeks).

  • Risks include redness, swelling, blistering of the skin. Can be minor discomfort during the treatment. Scarring is possible, but rare.

  • The number of treatments needed varies for each individual, depending on the condition being treated and the size of the area being treated.

    The number of recommended treatment sessions range from three to four and up to ten for optimal results.
