If you are looking for a way to tighten loose skin around your lower and upper eye-lids, your jawline, lower face, abdomen, or neck, these fibroblast treatments might be just the right solution for you.

What is plasma pen (fibroblast treatment)?

The Plasma Pen is the world’s most advanced, non-invasive skin tightening device used to treat wrinkles, sagging and dull looking skin. This non-invasive treatment is great for tightening skin and dedicated to reducing the signs of ageing of the skin and many areas, the most popular being an eye-lift.

Unlike the effects of Anti-wrinkle treatments, which last for mere months, the effects of Plasma Pen Fibroblast treatment last for up to 3 years.

HOW DOES THE plasma pen  PROCEDURE WORK?

After a topical anesthetic is applied, treatment is delivered using an electronic hand-piece, (the plasma pen) and commences by holding the device over the selected area. The pen-like device uses a small metal probe to ionize atmospheric gas, producing a tiny plasma spark between the device tip and the patient’s skin. This spark creates a response in the skin which is a minute superficial trauma.

This trauma causes the skin in its vicinity to tighten and lift. The procedure produces an accumulation of tiny brown spots on the skin, that are strategically placed to attain the desired result. The skin around the dot tightens instantly, pulling the cells closer together, giving results that are noticeable immediately after only one treatment.

After the initial tightening immediately following your treatment, your skin kick starts the healing process, stimulating the fibroblasts in your skin to produce collagen. The elasticity of the skin and skin tightening will continue to improve as the skin heals and repairs.

The treatment may be moderately uncomfortable depending on which area of your skin is being treated.

We allow 90 minutes including time for the anesthetic to work for smaller areas such as eyelids and crows feet, but for larger areas like the neck area or baby belly please allow up to 2 hours.

how soon will I see results and how long will they last?

The results are visible immediately after the treatment, but the maximum results will be visible after 3 to 4 weeks, when the skin enters the third phase of the healing. Because the treatment stimulates the natural body healing process, it typically takes eight weeks to see the full benefits of the treatment.

The full results of the procedure should be noticeable after around three months and should last for 3 years in most cases. The treatment can be repeated as necessary to obtain the desired results. In most cases, one to four treatments will produce the most optimal results. The treatment can be repeated as we naturally age.

WHO IS THE IDEAL CANDIDATE?

Fibroblast treatment is not suitable for everyone. There are risks associated with the treatment and it is of the utmost importance to know if you are a good candidate for this advanced procedure. If you’re considering Fibroblast, you should be in good health at the time of the appointment, with no pre-existing health conditions.

We require that all clients interested in Plasma Pen, have a complimentary consultation with our experienced dermal therapist. During the consultation, your skin will be evaluated, and we will go over your concerns and questions and determine if you are a good candidate for the treatment.

The procedure is not recommended for patients who:

  • Are experiencing a Herpes Simplex Virus outbreak

  • Are pregnant or breast-feeding

  • Have had Botox recently

  • Are diabetic

  • Have used Accutane within the last year

  • Have a pace-maker installed

  • Have darker skin

how many treatments will I need?

It really depends on the condition of your skin, the particular areas that need to be treated and how severe they are. One treatment is often enough depending on skin type, severity of wrinkles and client’s expectation. Often, patients just need one session of plasma pen treatment, but due to the simplicity of the procedure and the affordable price, many clients opt for two or even three treatments to achieve a perfect result

Further treatments can be carried out after 12 weeks.

For a more accurate idea of how many treatments you will need, this will be assessed and discussed during your initial consultation appointment.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME AND ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS?

Over the first day or two, you can expect your skin to feel tender and swelling and redness will also be present.  The healing process will include crusting (which should be left to fall away naturally) over the course of about a week to 10 days.

Each person will vary, with some only experiencing slight swelling which goes away within 2 days, while others may experience moderate swelling that lasts for up to 7 days. Redness and pigmentation from these tiny marks may stick around for longer when the scabs fall off earlier than they should.

Treatments can sometimes lead to more prolonged redness and swelling, while the skin recovers, this is more likely when the eye lids or areas close to the eye are treated. It can take up to 7 to 14 days to fully recover for some individuals.

Scrupulously following our aftercare advice will minimise the risk of any pigmentation and ensure any side effects are minimal and temporary.
